PERFORMANCE TRAINING
For athletes who want to improve their performance and enjoy their sport to the best of their ability.
BEYOND PRACTICE
Competitive athletes can do more than just practice their sport to improve their performance, but often times don't know what to do. This usually includes speed technique, plyometrics, strength training and metabolic conditioning.
Applied correctly these elements can take any athlete to the next level!

SPEED TRAINING
Speed is a skill that is as technical as a golf swing. Just like in golf when you apply the proper biomechanics to a sprint, it achieves unparalleled results. Many place too much value and emphasis on genetics alone. Anyone can greatly increase their speed if they learn how to apply force and power in the right direction and with the correct stride frequency.

Measurable Progress in Action
We can see progress and improvements in athletes in many different ways. Three key performance indicators in sports are how well an athlete can sprint, jump and changed direction. Thankfully these three areas generally improve together as they are all related to how much power an athlete can generate. I measure these improvements over time using very specific assessments to make sure the athlete is progressing in all three of these areas as they are training.

LINEAR SPEED

Acceleration and sprint performance is central in many sports and is best measured for most sports by 10yd, 40yd, and 60yd sprints. But it all starts with those first 5-10 yards of explosive acceleration!

VERTICAL JUMP

Being able to jump vertically and horizontally is an important skill in many sports and it correlates to how fast you can sprint and how quickly you can change direction. We test jumping ability using the Vertical Jump, Approach Jump and the Broad Jump.

CHANGE OF DIRECTION

Changing direction quickly in most sports allows the athlete to get away from defenders while on offense and stay with attackers while on defense. This can be measured with drills such as the Pro Agility Drill and the 3 Cone Drill among many others.
I did extensive research on this in my Thesis Project while studying for my Masters Degree which you can access here. I have also been working with many athletes of all sports using the same methodology since 2008.
